Suraj Marble & Granite

We’re located over at Malana Patia, right near the Sai Baba Temple on the Abu Road Highway. Being near the highway means we see a lot of traffic passing by. Our yard is usually filled with big blocks of granite and marble. It’s a lot of grey and white and black stone sitting out there. We spend most of our days moving these pieces with the forklift. It’s a bit tricky sometimes when the ground is uneven. The noise from the highway is something you just stop hearing after a while. We aren't a big fancy showroom with lights and carpets. It’s just us, the stone, and a few sheds for the cutting machines. We get quite a bit of dust, especially when we’re polishing or cutting. Sometimes people stop by just because they saw the sign while driving to the temple. We show them around, let them touch the stone, and tell them how much it costs per foot. We don't have a marketing team or anything like that. It’s just me and a couple of helpers keeping the place running. It’s hard work, and the summer heat on the highway is no joke, but we like being our own bosses. It’s a decent way to make a living, even if our clothes are always covered in stone dust by the end of the shift. We just try to keep things moving as best as we can.
