Shakti Granites

Shakti Granites is located right at the Habatpur Bus Stop, which is along the Delhi National Highway. It is a very busy spot and there is always the sound of big trucks and buses rumbling past the front. The dust from the highway tends to settle on everything, so we spend a fair bit of time just hosing down the stone slabs so people can actually see the colors and the patterns underneath. It is heavy, physical work, and my hands are usually pretty rough from handling the granite all day long. We have a big open yard where we keep the stock. There isn't much of an office, just a small corner where we keep our logs and a chair that's seen better days. People stop by because they see the stacks of stone from the road. We get all kinds, from people building a small house to contractors working on bigger projects. We don't do any big talk or sales pitches. If a piece of granite has a natural flaw or a little crack, we point it out right away because there is no point in hiding it. It is honest work and it keeps us busy from morning until the sun goes down. The highway noise is something you just get used to after a while. Sometimes we even recognize the regular drivers who pass by every day. It's just a regular yard doing regular business, and we stay until the light fades out.
