Sthapatya Marble

We’ve been here at Sthapatya Marble for a good while now, right across from the Sai Baba Temple on Aburoad Highway No.14. People usually spot the temple first and then see our yard full of stone. It’s mostly just us handling the day-to-day stuff, moving slabs around and talking to whoever stops by. The highway gets pretty busy with trucks, so it’s never really quiet around here. We deal with marble all day, looking at the different patterns and colors that come in. It’s heavy work, honestly. My hands are usually dusty by noon. Some days are slow, just sitting and watching the traffic, and other days we’re running around trying to get things loaded up. We don't have a big fancy office or anything like that. It’s just the shed and the stacks of stone out front. Most people who come in are local builders or folks just fixing up a small part of their house. We show them what we have on the ground and tell them the truth about which pieces have more veins or spots. It’s simple work but it keeps us occupied. If you’re driving down Highway 14, you can’t miss us. We just try to keep the yard organized so people can actually walk through and see the different blocks without tripping over something. It’s not a glamorous job, but we know the stone well after all these years.
