Giriraj Granite

If you are traveling along the Abu Palanpur Highway No. 14, you will come across Giriraj Granite. We are located in the Banaskantha district, specifically in Palanpur. You can’t really miss us if you are near the Balaram Mahadev Temple. Being right on the highway means we see a lot of traffic passing by all day and night. The wind often blows dust across the yard from the road, so things stay pretty gritty. We have our granite slabs set up in rows so people can walk through and see the different types of stone we have available. It’s an outdoor business for the most part. We have a small cabin where we handle the money and the paperwork, but we spend most of our time outside. The sun can be really strong here, so we try to get the heavy work done early in the morning before it gets too hot. We use an old crane to move the heavier pieces, and it makes a loud grinding noise that we’ve all grown used to. People stop by on their way to other places, and we show them what we’ve got in stock. It is a simple operation with no frills. We don't have a big staff, just a few guys who know how to handle stone without breaking it. We just keep at it, day after day. It isn't anything special, just how we make our living. It works for us and we've been here a while.
