Thirupathur Vayalaga Jeevidam Farmers Producer Company Limited is based right at D No 20/5, Samba Oorani Vadakaraithirupathur. It’s a mouthful of a name, but we are just local farmers trying to figure out how to sell our stuff together. Most of us have been farming since we were kids, and this company was just a way to bring everyone in the area into one group. We spend a lot of time talking about seeds, water, and how the markets are looking. The office is a simple place where we gather to sign papers or store some supplies. It isn't always organized perfectly, but we know where everything is. You’ll find us near the water tank area mostly. Being a farmer here means you have to deal with whatever the season throws at you. Sometimes we have good years, sometimes things are lean. We just try to help each other out so nobody gets left behind when the harvest comes. It’s a lot of physical work and sometimes we stay late just to get the bags loaded or the accounts checked. We aren't looking to become some big city business, we just want our families to do okay. If you stop by, you’ll probably see a couple of us drinking tea and arguing about the next planting cycle. That’s just how it is here in Thirupathur. We keep it honest and stay busy with the land because that is what we know.
