Spinifex Farms Private Limited

You can find us at Spinifex Farms Private Limited, which is located at No. V/134 in South Kadamparasholayur. We are near the Kottathara area. It’s a bit of a remote spot, but that’s perfect for a farm. We spend most of our time out in the fields rather than sitting in an office. The building we have is mostly for storing supplies and keeping our basic records. We started this farm because we wanted to work for ourselves and stay close to the land. It’s not a glamorous job. You’re always dealing with the weather, whether it’s too much rain or a long dry spell. We have to be very careful with how we use our resources out here. The name Spinifex sounds a bit fancy, but we are as local as it gets. Most of the people who work with us live just down the road. We don't have a corporate structure with managers and supervisors. We all just muck in and do what needs to be done. Sometimes the tractors break or the fence needs mending, and we just handle it. It is a very practical way of living. We aren't trying to change the world, we just want to run a good farm and produce something worthwhile. It’s a lot of sweat and long days, but there is a peace out here that you don't get in the city.
