Raghubir Singh Modern School

Our school is situated in L 2, Uttam Nagar, which is a very crowded part of Delhi. If you’ve ever been to this side of the city, you know how tight the streets can be and how much noise there is from the traffic and the shops nearby. Raghubir Singh Modern School has been part of this community for years. We aren't tucked away in some quiet corner; we are right in the thick of things. The school building has several floors because space is at a premium here in Uttam Nagar. We have classrooms that look out over the street, and you can always hear the sounds of the neighborhood coming through the windows. It’s a very local place. Most of the children walk here from the surrounding blocks. The staff room is usually full of tea cups and stacks of notebooks that need marking. We don’t have a lot of fancy equipment, just the basics that a school needs to function. Our main focus is just getting through the syllabus and making sure the kids are safe while they are with us. The bells ring loud enough to be heard over the rickshaws outside. It’s a bit chaotic at times, especially when the school day ends and everyone rushes out into the street, but that’s just life in Delhi. We are just a regular school trying to do our best in a busy neighborhood.
