If you walk down Janpath Road, you eventually hit the Tibetan Market where we are at stall 16. It’s a small spot, honestly, just like the others in this row. We’ve got all sorts of arts and things hanging from the ceiling and piled up on the counters. It gets really busy when the tourists are in town. We spend a lot of time just rearranging things so people can actually see what’s there. The roof leaks a tiny bit when there’s a heavy monsoon rain, so we have to be quick with the plastic sheets. It’s not a quiet place at all. You can hear the traffic from the main road and everyone talking at once. We usually have a radio playing something low in the background to keep us company. The stalls next to us have been there forever too, so we all know each other. We eat our lunch sitting on small stools behind the counter. It’s a lot of standing all day, which gets tiring for the legs. Most of the stuff we have comes from far away and we spend time explaining where it’s from to anyone who asks. We don't have any fancy displays or bright lights. It’s just a simple stall with a lot of character. Sometimes we stay late if the evening crowd is good. It’s a decent life here in the market.
