About Four Seasons Gallery – Art & Craft in New Delhi
We’ve been running Four Seasons Gallery for quite a few years now over at 13/4 Market in Jor Bagh. It’s not a very big shop, but we’ve stuffed a lot of things inside. Most days, you’ll find one of us sitting behind the small desk near the front door, just watching the street. The place gets a bit dusty because of the road work they are always doing nearby, but we try our best to keep the glass clean. My cousin handles the framing in the back room while I talk to whoever walks in. Sometimes people come in just to escape the heat for a minute or to look at the prints we have hanging up. We don’t have a fancy website or a big sign, just the old one that’s been there since we first opened up. The lighting inside is a little dim in the corners, which makes it feel cozy, at least that’s what a regular customer told me once. We usually open around ten, though if the traffic is bad, it might be ten-fifteen. Jor Bagh is a quiet neighborhood mostly, and we like it that way. There is a tea stall just down the lane that we visit every afternoon. If you ever stop by and the door is locked, I’m probably just there getting a quick cup. We have all sorts of frames, some wood and some metal, leaning against the walls. It’s a simple operation really. We don't use computers much, just a notebook for the orders. Sometimes the ink on the pen dries up and I have to shake it.
