Burma Hair Cutting Saloon

Down here in Sadar Bazar, specifically at 1/137 in Delhi Cantt, things move pretty fast. Our little shop, Burma Hair Cutting Saloon, has been part of this street for quite some time. It’s not one of those modern places with bright neon lights and loud music playing all day. We have the basic barber chairs, the big mirrors that have seen better days, and the smell of shaving cream and talcum powder in the air. Most of our customers are locals who have been coming to us for years. They come in for a quick trim or a shave before heading to work. We talk about the weather or the news while we work. The space is small, so on Saturdays, it can get a bit crowded with people waiting on the bench outside. We don’t have a website or anything like that. People just know where we are. The floor gets covered in hair pretty quickly, so we’re always sweeping. Delhi Cantt is a unique area, and being in Sadar Bazar means there’s always noise from the market outside. We use simple tools, mostly scissors and combs, and we don’t offer any of those expensive treatments. It’s just a place for a decent haircut without any fuss. The tea stall next door brings us chai when things slow down in the afternoon. It’s a simple life running a shop like this in such a busy part of Delhi.
