Ainus Beauty Hair Saloon

Over here at 40/6 in the DDA Flats in Sarojini Nagar, things are always moving. We are right opposite Pillanji Village, so there’s a lot of foot traffic throughout the day. Ainus Beauty Hair Saloon isn’t a massive place. It’s tucked away a bit in the residential area. Most days we are just busy with the locals who need a trim. The Delhi heat can be something else, so we keep the door shut and the cooler running as much as we can. You can hear the noise from the market nearby if you step outside for a break. We’ve got the usual barber chairs and some posters on the wall that have been there a long time. People come in for a shave or a quick cut before they go to work. Sometimes the kids from the village come by and it gets a bit loud. We don’t mind that much. It’s just how it is around here. The sink leaks a tiny bit but we put a plastic bucket under it. It’s a simple setup. We don't have a website or anything like that. People just know where we are by walking past. Sarojini is always crowded, so having this little spot in the flats feels a bit quieter. We spend our time cleaning the combs and waiting for the next person to walk through the door. It’s hard work being on your feet all day, but we are used to it.
