Ashok Flour Mill

The shop is called Ashok Flour Mill and you can find us over in Kapashera. We are located in Mandir Wali Gali, which is part of the Kapas Hera Extension. Being near the temple means there is always someone walking by, and many of our regulars stop in after they finish their morning prayers. It is a small space filled with the smell of fresh grain and the sound of the motors humming. We spend most of the morning cleaning the machines and getting things ready for the afternoon rush. People bring their own wheat and we grind it while they wait or they leave it and come back later after doing their other chores. Kapashera is a busy area and things can get a bit loud outside, but inside the mill, it is just about getting the flour right. The walls are a bit white from all the flour dust that settles everywhere no matter how much we sweep. It is just me and a helper usually, making sure the bags are filled correctly and the weight is right. We don't have a big sign or anything, just the work we do every day for the families living in the extension. The street is a bit narrow, so sometimes it gets crowded when several people arrive at once with their cycles or carts. We just keep at it, one bag at a time, until the day is done and we close up the shutters for the night.
