S.S. Engineering Works

We’ve been here at Patil Compound for quite a while now. The shop is tucked away near Patel Compound, right across from Kamala Arcade on Old Thane Belapur Road. It’s a bit of a noisy spot in Rabale, but we like it. Most days start early with the sound of machines warming up. There’s always some metal shavings on the floor and the smell of cutting oil in the air. We keep ourselves busy with the lathes and whatever work comes in through the door. It’s not a fancy place, just two shops, number two and three, joined together. Sometimes the traffic on the main road gets a bit much, especially during the evening rush. We usually take our breaks at a small tea stall nearby. The lighting inside isn't the brightest, but we know where every tool is kept. Most of the folks who drop by are regulars from around the industrial area. We don't have a big front desk or anything like that. You just walk in and talk to whoever isn't currently under a machine. It gets hot in the afternoons, especially during the summer, but we keep the fans running. It’s just how it is working in engineering. We focus on getting the measurements right and making sure the parts fit. It’s honest work and keeps us on our feet all day. If you’re looking for us, just find the big blue gate near the arcade.
