The gate at W-395, Midc Rabale usually stays open all day because people are always moving in and out with various parts. Being just off the Thane-Belapur Road makes it easy for the trucks to find us, though the traffic out there can be a real headache some afternoons. At Shri Swastik Engineers Pvt. Ltd, we don’t really go in for big speeches or fancy office decor. Most of us have been working on these machines for years, and we know the sound of a motor that’s about to give trouble before it even happens. The floors are concrete and they’ve got their fair share of stains, but that’s just what happens when you’re working with oil and metal every single day. We keep a small kettle in the corner for tea, and that’s usually where most of the talking happens during the short breaks we take. It’s a loud place when everything is running, so we mostly communicate with simple nods and hand signals while the lathes are spinning. Sometimes the paperwork gets a bit messy on the desk, but we make sure the actual engineering work is handled. People around the Rabale area know where we are, and we’ve been part of this industrial community for quite a while now. It’s just honest work, nothing more and nothing less. We show up, we do the job at our spot in the MIDC, and we go home to our families when the sun goes down.
