Incrab Engineers Pvt. Ltd. is based at Plot No. A/249 in MIDC Mahape. This part of the industrial estate is always humming with some kind of machinery. Our plot has a decent amount of space, but we’ve managed to fill most of it with equipment and materials over the years. The floor is that hard-wearing gray concrete you see everywhere in Mahape. We spend our days mostly in overalls, working on whatever engineering task is on the schedule. It’s not a quiet environment—there’s always the sound of grinding or metal hitting metal. We have a small office section sectioned off with some glass panels, but it’s rarely quiet there either. The commute to MIDC can be a bit of a drag in the mornings, but once we get the shutters up and the lights on, the day goes by pretty fast. We aren’t really into the corporate polish you find in the city. Our desks are covered in notebooks, half-empty coffee mugs, and spare parts. We just get on with the work that needs doing. Sometimes we have to stay late to finish a batch, but we don’t mind too much. It’s just the nature of being an engineer in an industrial hub. We’ve been at A/249 for a long time and know the neighboring units well. The days are long and the work is often repetitive, but there is a certain rhythm to life here in Mahape that we appreciate.
