Shri Neem Karoli Baba Farmers Producercompany Limited

This company, Shri Neem Karoli Baba Farmers Producercompany Limited, is really just a bunch of us from the Shahada area in Nandurbar. We operate out of Ganesh Narayan Bagul’s place at Kheddigarh, specifically at Gat Number 197. If you know this part of the country, you know the farming life isn't always easy. We named it after the Baba because many of us have a lot of faith there. Our days are spent checking on the crops and making sure the irrigation is working right. We don’t have a big corporate office with air conditioning; our office is the open fields and Ganesh’s front yard. We gather there to talk about which seeds are working best this year and how we can get a better deal on the stuff we need to buy. It’s about being practical. We are all small farmers who realized that we have more power if we talk to each other and sell our stuff as a group. Sometimes the market prices are down and it’s frustrating, but having the company helps us feel less alone in it. We deal with the realities of the land every day. It’s a lot of sweat and long hours under the sun, but that’s just how it is here. We are just trying to keep the traditions of our village alive while making sure we can actually afford to keep farming next year and feed our families.
