Our little group is based out of Anita Vinod Kokani’s home in Ninmbonitah. If you know the Navapur area in Nandurbar, you know it’s mostly small farms and hard-working folks. A bunch of us women decided we should try to do things differently this time around. We spent a lot of time just talking in the yard before we actually registered the name. It isn't easy balancing the housework, the kids, and then trying to run a producer company on top of it all. We don’t have a big corporate building with glass windows. We usually just gather in the shade when the sun gets too high. We deal with whatever crops are in season and try to help each other out with the selling part. Some days it feels like we are just filling out endless forms and other days we are out in the dirt. The roads around here can be pretty rough, especially when the monsoon hits Nandurbar hard. We just want to make sure the women in our village have a voice when it comes to the harvest. It’s a slow process and we make mistakes sometimes, but we are learning as we go. We don't have any flashy equipment or fancy slogans. It is just us, a few notebooks, and the hope that we can make things a little easier for the next season.
