We set up Ukhlai Dalvikas Farmer Producer Company Limited here in Hadgaon because there was a need to do things differently. You can find us at Santosh Laxmanrao Mane’s place over in Dronagiri Nagar at 552/1. It is not some big office, just a spot where we gather to talk about the crops and the season. Most of us around here grow similar things and we figured working as a group would make life a bit easier for everyone. It gets very busy during the harvest time and sometimes things are a bit messy, but that is just how it goes with farming. We handle the dal and other stuff that the local guys bring in. There are plenty of days when we are just trying to figure out the transport or how to store things better so they don't spoil in the heat. It is mostly just about getting the work done and making sure everyone gets a fair shake. People around Hadgaon know where we are. We don’t have fancy signs or anything like that. Just a bunch of farmers trying to manage the business side of things without getting too overwhelmed by the paperwork. Some days are long, especially when the weather isn't helping, but we keep at it. We’ve been at this for a while now and the office is where you’ll usually find someone if you need to talk. It’s practical, local work and we don't try to make it sound like more than it is.
