Chivli Farmers Producer Company Limited is based out of Chivali, near the post office in Kharb. We are part of the Khandgaon area here in Nanded. It started when a few of us realized that we were all facing the same struggles with the middleman and the cost of seeds. We aren't professional managers. We are just farmers who decided to organize ourselves. Most of the time, we are out working, but we meet up at the village to handle the company business. It’s a very simple setup. We don't have any high-tech equipment or a big warehouse yet. We just use what we have and try to make it work. The weather in Maharashtra can be unpredictable, so having a group like this makes the bad years a little easier to handle. We talk about which crops are doing well and where we can get the best price. There is no corporate polish here. We just want to stay on our land and keep our farms running for the next generation. It’s about being honest with each other and putting in the hours. We don't make big promises or use fancy language. We just show up, do the labor, and hope the harvest is good. That's the reality of life in Chivali, and we are okay with that. It is better to work together than to try and solve all these problems by yourself in the field.
