Sreenija Farmers Producer Company Limited is based out of Lohagaon, which is a village in the Biloli area of Nanded. We use Prashant Jayprakash Gangamwar’s house as our main point of contact. There are a lot of us living around here who have been farming for generations. Life in Lohagaon revolves around the seasons and the crops we put in the ground. We started this company because the market in Nanded is a bit of a drive and it’s hard for one person to get a good price alone. By being a producer company, we can pool our harvests. It’s not a corporate setup at all. Most days, we are just wearing our work clothes and dealing with the dirt. Prashant helps keep the records straight because the government needs a lot of papers filed these days. Biloli is a good place to live, but farming has its ups and downs. We wanted to have a little more control over where our crops go. It’s just a bunch of local guys trying to help each other out. We don’t have any fancy staff or a big warehouse yet. We just use what we have and work with the tools available to us. It’s honest work and it keeps us busy from morning till night. We hope that by staying organized, we can keep our farms going for our kids. That is why we are here.
