Shivputra Farmer Producer Company Limited

We are based out of Umraj, right here in Kandhar. Shivputra Farmer Producer Company Limited started because a bunch of us locals needed to figure out how to handle our crops better. It isn’t some big office building, it’s mostly just us working from H.No.272. If you come by Umraj, you will see the fields and the way we do things. We spend most of our days dealing with the dirt and the weather, which isn't always easy. Kandhar gets hot, but the work has to happen anyway. We aren't trying to be fancy. We just get the produce ready and try to make sure everything stays moving. Sometimes the paperwork gets a bit messy, but that is how it goes when you are more used to farming than sitting at a desk. We talk to each other under the trees and decide what needs doing next. It's a group effort, really. Everyone knows everyone here in the village. We handle our own stuff and help out when a neighbor's tractor breaks down or the rain comes too early. Life in Umraj moves at its own pace. We aren't looking to change the world, just trying to keep our livelihoods steady and the soil healthy for the next season. It’s just how things are done here at the house and in the fields surrounding it. We stay busy and keep our heads down. It is hard work but it is ours.
