You’ll find us in the village of Babulgaon, which is out in the Kandhar area of Nanded. We are just a group of local farmers who decided to start Sant Yogiraj Farmers Producer Company. Most of us have lived in Babulgaon our entire lives and our families have been farming this soil for generations. We don't have a fancy headquarters or anything like that. Our base is right here in the post area, where we can easily meet up after a day in the fields. We started this because we wanted a way to get better prices for what we grow. It’s not a polished business with a lot of staff. It’s mostly just the members sitting around on plastic chairs, talking about the weather and the cost of supplies. Nanded can be a very dry place, so we spend a lot of time discussing water and how to keep our plants alive during the peak of summer. We don't use any marketing jargon or try to sound like a big company. We are just practical people who know how to work with our hands. Sometimes we make mistakes, and sometimes the harvest doesn't come up like we hoped. But we keep trying because it’s the life we chose. We share our tools and our advice freely among the members. It’s an honest, hard-working community and we just want to make sure our village stays productive. We aren't doing anything fancy, just farming.
