We are over here at Naigaon, working out of Sakharam Baliram’s place at house number 62. Most of us in this part of Dharmabad have been farming our whole lives, so starting Rajrajeshwar Farmer Producer Companylimited felt like the right move for the village. It is not some big office building, just a spot where we get together to figure out how to handle our crops and the rising costs of everything. Some days the rain is too much and other times we are waiting for a drop, but that is just how it goes in the fields. We started this because doing things alone was getting harder. Now, we try to buy our supplies together and see if we can get a better handle on the market prices. It is a lot of paperwork and meetings, which none of us really like compared to being outdoors, but we are learning. Sakharam's house is where the books are kept and where the talk happens. We deal with whatever the season brings, whether it is soy or cotton or grain. There are no fancy machines or high-tech systems here, just a group of neighbors trying to make the farm pay for itself. We do not have a big staff, just a few of us taking turns to manage the load. It is basic work, often dusty and tiring, but we are sticking with it because there is no other way to get ahead around here. I suppose we just want to make it easier for the next generation.
