Nirmitee Farmer Producer Company Limited

Our setup for Nirmitee Farmer Producer Company Limited is right in Vijay Nagar. We are lucky enough to use Block Number 15 at Shobhabai Anantrao Bhise’s place. It’s located near Shivaji School and the Ram Mandir, so it’s a busy little neighborhood. You can usually hear the school kids playing or the bells from the temple while we are trying to get our work done. We are a group of farmers who live around here and wanted to pool our resources. Most of our days are spent checking on the crops or dealing with the logistics of getting things moved from the field to the buyers. It’s not an easy life, but having a central spot like Shobhabai’s place makes it easier to stay in touch with each other. We don’t really do any fancy advertising or anything like that. People just know us from the area. We have our meetings in the block, usually with a lot of tea and talk about the rain or the price of diesel. It’s a practical way to run things. We aren’t trying to be some huge corporation; we just want to make sure the farmers in our group get a fair shake. Being near the temple gives us a bit of peace, even when the work gets stressful. We just take things one day at a time and do our best with what we have in this community.
