We are based in Dasarkhed, over at Laxmibai Ninu Dhopade’s place, which is house number 185. This is in the Malkapur area of Buldana district. Manudevi Farmers Producer Company Limited is just a group of us from the village who wanted to do something together for a change. Farming on your own is getting harder every single year with the costs of everything going up so fast. So, we started this. We don’t have a big fancy office with computers and leather chairs. Most of our talking happens outside in the yard or in the shed where we keep the tools. We grow a variety of things depending on when the rain starts. Some years are good, some are really dry and difficult, but we stick together through it all. We are just normal people who know how to work the soil. We don’t pretend to be big businessmen or experts. We just want to make sure the crops we grow with so much sweat actually get us enough money to feed our families and pay the bills. It is about being practical and looking after the land. If someone needs extra help with their harvest, we try to find a way to make it work.
