Kale Mangesh Farmer Producer Company Limited is right in the middle of it all. Being in New Mondha means we are always seeing what’s happening with the crops and the prices. It is a noisy place with a lot of tractors and people shouting, but that’s just how a trade area works. We aren't some polished corporate group. We are just guys who know the market and know the farmers. Our office is a place where people drop in to talk about the latest harvest or to see what the rates are like today. We don't have a mission statement on the wall. We just have a lot of ledgers and some dusty chairs. The work is mostly about connecting the people who grow the food with the people who need to buy it. It’s a lot of physical work and staying up late to finish the paperwork. We’ve been doing this for a bit now and we’ve learned that things rarely go exactly as planned. You just have to be flexible and keep moving. We don't promise anything impossible. We just try to do our bit in the market every single day and hope for a decent season.
