We are out in Wadapalli Village, specifically at Ganesh Pahad in the Damarcharla Mandal area. It’s a bit of a trek to get out here if you aren’t used to the rural roads. The landscape is mostly rocky and open, which makes sense for what we do. Working in the cement industry means we deal with a lot of heavy material and a fair amount of dust. The facility is large and spread out across the site. Most of the people working here are from the nearby villages, so there’s a local feel to the place despite the size of the operation. We don’t have much in the way of city comforts out here. It’s a lot of outdoor work under the sun. The trucks come in early, and the noise from the machinery is pretty constant until the evening shift ends. We usually have our meals together in a simple canteen area. It's quiet around here at night, quite different from the busier towns. We spend a lot of time checking the machinery and making sure the loading schedules stay on track. There’s always some maintenance to do because the dust gets into everything. We don't use a lot of fancy words to describe what we do. We just make sure the cement is ready and the trucks are moving. It’s a practical, straightforward life out in the Mandal, focused on the production.
