Karshak Cement Pipe Company

Down at Karshak Cement Pipe Company, the yard is full of round pipes stacked up high. We are located at Sy No 660 665 on the Hyderabad Road, right in Cherllapally Village. It is easy to find us because of all the concrete shapes sitting out in the open. The work here is mostly about casting and curing. We use a lot of water to keep the cement from cracking while it sets in the sun. It is a messy job, really. Your clothes end up covered in grey marks by the end of the shift. We have been in Cherllapally for a while, and the village has changed around us, but the way we make pipes stays about the same. It takes a lot of patience to get the reinforcement wire right before pouring. Sometimes the weather doesn't help, like when it’s too humid or when the rain floods the lower part of the yard. We just move things to higher ground and keep going. The trucks come in from the main road to pick up loads for drainage projects or road work. We don't spend much time on the computer; mostly we are out there checking the molds or talking to the drivers. It is a simple operation. We make the pipes, they dry, and then they go out. There isn't much more to it than that. It’s honest work that keeps us busy from Monday to Saturday.
