If you find yourself wandering near the library in Mallital, you will likely stumble across Uttarakhand Travels. We are tucked away on Mall Road here in Nainital. It is a good spot because it is quiet enough to think but close to everything important in the town. We have been operating from this corner for some time. Our day usually starts early with a walk down the road to open up the shutters. The mountain air is crisp in the morning, which helps us stay awake while we look over travel schedules. We do a lot of work for people traveling through the state. It is mostly just us sitting at the desks, answering the phone, and looking at maps. The library is a good landmark for people who get lost looking for us. We don't have any big corporate banners or anything like that. Just a plain office where we sort out bus routes and car rentals. Sometimes the internet is slow, but we manage to get things done eventually. People come in with all sorts of questions about where to go and how to get there. We just tell them what we know from our own experience. It is a straightforward way to earn a living. The Mallital side of town has its own rhythm, and we have become part of it over the years. We stay open pretty late when the tourist season is in full swing. It is mostly just hard work and a lot of talking to people.
