We started this company to help the farmers around Sainar get their produce to the market without so much trouble. Usually, a single farmer has a hard time getting a fair price. We try to bunch everything together. It is not a shiny corporate office; it is just a room with some desks and a lot of talk about potatoes, grain, and whatever else is growing this season. We spend a lot of time walking the paths between farms. Arjun knows everyone here, which makes it easier to get people to cooperate. We deal with the daily headaches of mountain farming, like transport and storage. It’s a lot of physical work and keeping track of who brought what. We don’t have a big mission statement. We just want to make sure the work we do in the fields pays off at the end of the year. Life here is slow but the work is constant. We are just local people trying to make a go of it together in Sainar. It is a hard life but the air is fresh and we like it.
