Hawalbagh Fed Farmer Producer Company Limited

Our group is based in Gram Panchayat Naula, right in the Hawalbagh area of Almora. If you are looking for us, we are mostly found around Priyanka Arya’s place, which we use as our main meeting point. Living in Almora is nice, but farming in these hills has a lot of challenges that people down in the plains wouldn't really understand. We started this producer company because it made a lot of sense for us to work as a team instead of everyone struggling on their own. We spend a lot of our days walking between the different village plots and talking to the local farmers. Some days we might spend three hours just sitting and discussing the weather or why a certain crop isn't growing right. We handle everything as a collective, which really helps when we need to figure out how to get our goods to the market. The office side of things is very basic, just some chairs and a lot of old registers to keep track of everything. We don’t have any big signs or fancy advertisements out front. Most of us have been friends for years, so it feels more like a community project than a real company. It gets quite cold here when winter hits, and the work slows down, but there is always something to get ready for spring. We just try to make sure every farmer in our group gets a fair deal.
