You can find us at Shri Rajendra Singh’s house, number 00, in the Kailashpuri area. We are located right on Dharchula Road. Himshikhar Farmers Producer Company Limited isn't a big business with a glass building or anything like that. We are just a collective of farmers from this part of the mountains. Living up here on the way to Dharchula means we have to deal with some tough weather and steep land. We decided to pool our resources together because it makes more sense than trying to sell our crops one by one. Rajendra was kind enough to let us use his home as the main point for our meetings and all the official mail. Most days, we are out in the fields or checking on the livestock. When we do get together, it is usually to talk about the harvest or how to get our produce down to the bigger markets. We are all neighbors here in Kailashpuri. We know each other’s kids and we’ve helped each other through plenty of winters. There is no corporate ladder here, just a bunch of people who know how to work the land. We keep our own books and make our own decisions based on what’s happening in the village. It is a slow process sometimes, but it is our way of life. We are just trying to keep the mountain farming traditions going.
