Siv Bricks Makers

Our yard is over at Plot No 155 in Kapil Nagar. It’s right off Nari Road in the Jaripatka area. If you’re looking for Siv Bricks Makers, you’ll probably see the piles of red clay before you even see our sign. We’ve been working this plot for several years now. It’s a family-run kind of thing, not a big industrial operation. We spend most of our time outside, checking the molds and making sure the sun is doing its job. The dust gets into everything, but you get used to it after a week or two. We don’t have a fancy office with air conditioning. We just have a small shack where we keep the books and drink tea. The workers live nearby, and we all know each other’s names. We aren’t trying to change the world or anything like that. We just make bricks for the people building houses in this part of Nagpur. If someone needs a truckload, they come by, we agree on a price, and we load it up for them. It’s simple and honest. Sometimes the kiln doesn't fire just right, and we have to sort through the batch by hand. It’s tedious work, but we don't like selling stuff that isn't solid. We just keep going, day after day, and try to stay out of the rain when it comes. It is hard work, but it keeps us busy and pays the bills.
