Gd Bricks

Gd Bricks is tucked away in Kanhan, over in Maharashtra. It’s a fairly straightforward setup we have here. We deal with a lot of raw earth and water every single day. When the weather is good, we are out in the sun getting everything lined up. Rain is usually our biggest problem because you can’t really do much with wet clay when it's pouring down. The local guys from around Kanhan come in early, and we get started while it’s still cool out. There isn't any fancy corporate stuff going on here. We just have the kilns and the stacks of finished bricks waiting for the tractors to pick them up. Sometimes the dust gets in your eyes, and the work is heavy on the back, but it is what we know how to do. My father used to say the dirt tells you when it’s ready. We don't use a lot of high-tech gadgets; it’s mostly just manual labor and knowing how the fire behaves. People around town know where we are if they need a load for a new wall or a small house. It’s a quiet life for the most part, except for the sound of the shovels and the occasional truck backing in. We keep to ourselves and just try to make sure every batch comes out solid. It's just a regular local business doing regular things without any fuss.
