Ekta Steel & Ganaral Store

Working at Shpoe No 05 on C A Road is a lot of heavy lifting. Steel items are not light, and moving the pots and buckets around takes some effort. We are right in Wardhaman Nagar, not far from Vmv College. A lot of students pass by, though they mostly want the general items like pens or notebooks rather than the steel vessels. The shop is a bit dark inside because the building is old. I have to keep the lights on even during the day. Nagpur is known for being hot, and the metal in the shop seems to soak up all that heat. I spend my afternoons sitting near the fan, trying to stay cool while I wait for customers. The general store part of the business keeps me moving, restocking the soaps and detergents on the side shelves. I have a small desk in the corner where I keep my papers. It’s piled high with receipts that I need to file one of these days. Sometimes people come in to haggle over the price of a tiffin box, and we go back and forth for a while. It’s just how things are done here. I’ve been in this spot for a few years now and the routine doesn't change much. The noise from C A Road is constant, but you stop hearing it after a while. It’s just a regular shop doing its best to keep the stock ready for whoever walks in. I usually close the shutter around nine.
