Yigati Clothing & Bijoux Private Limited

Our place, Yigati Clothing & Bijoux Private Limited, is located on Mohammed Shahid Marg in Mumbai. We are in the Jumma Masjid Trust Building, on the ground plot 101, second floor. It’s a very old part of the city and the building has a lot of history to it. Downstairs, the street is always packed with people and vendors, so there is a lot of energy. We handle both clothing and jewelry, which we call bijoux. Because of that, our workspace is a bit of a mix. One side has rolls of fabric and the other has small benches for looking at jewelry pieces. It is a bit of a tight squeeze sometimes when we have a lot of new stock coming in. We don't have a polished showroom with glass cases everywhere. It is more of a workshop where the real work happens. The light from the windows isn’t always great, so we have a lot of lamps set up to see the details of the jewelry. We spend our days checking the quality of the stitching or the setting of the stones. It’s a family-style environment where we all sit together and have lunch while talking about the day’s tasks. We aren't interested in sounding like a big corporation. We just want to make things and get them out to people who appreciate them, all while working from this busy corner of Mumbai where the city never stops moving around us.
