The name of our shop, Xcuse Me, usually gets a little smile or a question from people passing by Tapkir Nagar in Malad West. We are at number 107, and it’s a fairly small place but we pack a lot into it. We mostly sell everyday items that people in the neighborhood might need in a hurry. You’ll find things like snacks, cold drinks, and some basic household stuff on our shelves. We spend a lot of our time just rearranging the stock so it all fits. The Malad heat can be pretty intense, so we keep the fridge running cold and stay near the fan. It’s a lively neighborhood with kids playing outside and people walking to work. We know most of the people who come in by their faces, even if we don't always remember every name. Sometimes we stay open a bit later if the street is still busy. Our counter is made of old wood that’s worn smooth from years of people leaning on it while they count out their change. We don't have a website or anything like that because we prefer just talking to people face to face. It’s a simple way to make a living, and we like being part of the daily routine for the folks on Tapkir Nagar. There is always someone coming in for a quick packet of chips or a bottle of water, and we like the steady pace of it all.
