West End Exports

We’ve been up here on the 13th floor for a while now. Office 30 in the Navjivan Commercial Building. If you know Lamington Road, you know how busy it gets downstairs. Most days the elevator takes forever, so we just plan our lunch breaks around the rush. It’s a bit of a climb if the power goes out, but luckily that doesn't happen too often lately. From up here, you can see a lot of Bombay Central, though mostly it’s just roofs and a bit of the skyline. We handle exports, which mostly means a lot of paperwork and phone calls that start early and end late. The office isn't anything fancy. We have some desks, a few filing cabinets that have seen better days, and a kettle that we use way too much. People come and go. Sometimes it's a bit cramped when we get a big shipment ready to document, but we make it work. It gets loud outside with the traffic, but once the windows are shut, it’s quiet enough to get through the spreadsheets. We’ve lived through the monsoon leaks and the summer heat when the AC struggles. It’s just how things are at West End Exports. Most of the staff has been here for years, so we all know who takes their tea with no sugar and who forgets to lock the back cabinet. It’s a steady place, tucked away in this big old building. We don't spend much on decor because we’re usually too busy keeping track of everything moving out.
