G. W. Garment

You can find G. W. Garment at Shop 128 on the first floor of the New National Market in Wadala. It’s right on R. A. K. Road, which is always packed with people and traffic. Being in a market like this means there’s never a dull moment. We’ve got a lot of competition around us, but we just focus on what we’re doing in our own little corner. The shop is filled with different types of garments from floor to ceiling. Sometimes it's hard to move around when we have new stock coming in, but we make it work. We spend a lot of time talking to customers who come up to the first floor looking for something specific. It’s a bit of a maze in the New National Market if you’re not used to it. We don't have a website or fancy ads; people usually just wander in or come back because they liked what they bought last time. It’s a lot of lifting boxes and hanging up clothes all day long. The noise from the street downstairs never really stops, but you get used to it after a week or two. We’re just regular people trying to make a living in the garment trade. It's not always easy, especially when the market is slow, but we've been here long enough to know the ups and downs. It's a busy life but it keeps us on our toes.
