Our business is tucked away at 34-K in the Laxmi Industrial Estate, right on the New Link Road in Andheri West. If you know Andheri, you know it’s always a bit of a madhouse with the traffic and the people everywhere. We manufacture gum products here, and it can get pretty busy on the shop floor. It’s not a quiet job; there’s always the sound of mixers running and people moving heavy sacks of raw materials around. We focus on organic gum, which means we have to be a bit more careful about how we handle everything. We’ve been in this same spot for a good number of years. The estate is full of all kinds of small workshops, so there’s a real sense of people just getting on with their work. We aren't interested in fancy office furniture or big presentations. Our space is practical—a place to make things and a small corner to handle the bills and the phone calls. Most days involve checking the production batches and making sure the quality is what it needs to be. We have a few guys who have been with us since the start, and they know exactly how the machines should sound. Sometimes the rain makes the Link Road almost impossible to cross, but we still show up and get the work done. It’s just a regular manufacturing life, nothing more and nothing less.
