Bhumi Impex

We are over at 192 Kumbharwada on Arora Road. It’s a part of town that’s always moving, with trucks and carts going past the door at Bhumi Impex all the time. The building is an older one, and the walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but it’s sturdy. Inside, it’s a mix of an office and a bit of storage space for the items we handle. There is always a smell of dust and maybe some faint exhaust from the road outside. We have a couple of heavy wooden desks that have been here since the start. The lighting isn't the brightest, but we have some lamps for when it gets dark in the evening. Most of the day is spent checking manifests and talking to suppliers. It’s the kind of place where you have to watch your step because there might be a box or a bundle of papers in the way. We don’t really bother with fancy computers if the old ones are still running fine. The tea stall down the road knows our order by heart and sends over a tray twice a day. It’s a gritty, hard-working environment where we don't put on any acts. We just focus on the imports and exports and make sure the paperwork is filed correctly in the old metal cabinets. It’s not a glamorous job, but it is what we do to keep things moving.
