Viva Fashions

Viva Fashions is over at 3 Subhadra on N. S. Road 6, in the Jvpd area of Vile Parle. It is a nice part of Mumbai to be in, though the traffic on the main road can be a headache during rush hour. Our shop is where we handle the designing and some of the smaller production runs. It is a fairly small space, so we have to be careful about how we stack the boxes and where we put the mannequins. We have a few tailors who have been with us for a long time, and they usually have their own way of doing things. Sometimes we argue about a hemline or a button choice, but it always gets sorted out by the end of the shift. Most of our walk-in visitors are locals from Vile Parle who have seen us here for years. We don't do much advertising; word of mouth seems to work well enough for us. The front window gets a lot of sun in the afternoon, so we have to rotate the displays often so the colors don't fade. It is just a small team of us working together. We drink a lot of coffee and stay busy with whatever the current season demands. It isn't a high-pressure corporate office. It is more like a workshop where things actually get made by hand. We like the pace of things here on N. S. Road and usually stay open until the last customer leaves.
