Vikas Art Industry

Down in Kandivali West, inside the KD Compound, you’ll find Vikas Art Industry. We are located near the Durga Mandir in Gandhi Nagar, which is a busy little pocket of Charco. Our workspace is usually filled with the smell of paint, glue, and whatever materials we are working with that day. It is a bit of a tight squeeze with all the supplies and finished pieces sitting around, but we make it work. We aren't a big factory with hundreds of people; it’s more of a small workshop where we focus on the details. People in Gandhi Nagar know the compound well, and there’s always someone popping in to see what we are making. The light isn't always great in the back corners, but we’ve got enough lamps to see what we’re doing. Working in the art industry means every day looks a little different depending on what a customer wants. Some projects take a few hours and others stay on the workbench for a week. We don't have a fancy showroom, so if you come by, you’ll see the actual work happening right in front of you. Sometimes we have to move boxes just to find a place for someone to sit. It’s a bit messy and there is always something to clean up at the end of the day, but that’s the reality of making things by hand. We just show up, do the work, and try to keep the compound spirit alive.
