Vasudev General Store

Vasudev General Store is right in the middle of things in Andheri West, over at 1 Cross Lane. If you know the area, we are just opposite Infiniti Mall, which means there are always tons of people walking around. Mumbai life is fast, and being in this part of Andheri really shows that. We have a small space where we keep all sorts of general items that people might need in a hurry. Being tucked into 1 Cross Lane gives us a bit of a different feel than the big mall across the street. We see a mix of office workers, shoppers, and local residents every day. Most of our work is just keeping the inventory straight and helping people find what they need among the many items we carry. It gets pretty loud with the traffic and the crowds from the mall, but that is part of working in this neighborhood. We don't have a big team, just a few of us making sure the shop stays open and ready. We spend a lot of time just chatting with the regulars who live in the apartments nearby. It is an honest living, and we take it one day at a time. The shop stays open pretty late because this part of Mumbai never really sleeps early. We are just a small part of the big city, doing our thing on the corner of the lane. It is a lot of counting items and making sure the shelves are never completely empty for the customers.
