Bage Clothing Company

We are tucked away in Building B of Sawant Nagari Housing Society. It's over in the Kharki Botodi area, and our workspace is on that steel floor level. It’s a bit of a strange layout, but it gives us enough room to spread out the fabric and set up the sewing machines in a way that makes sense. Most of the time, the air is filled with the sound of needles clicking and the hum of the motors running. We don't have a big storefront or anything like that to show off to the public. It’s mostly just us working through piles of cut pieces and turning them into actual clothes. Sometimes the lighting flickers if too many machines are running at once, but we've learned to deal with the quirks of the building. The neighborhood is quiet compared to the main roads, which helps us stay focused on the stitching. We get our supplies delivered through the main gate, and sometimes the delivery trucks get stuck in the narrow lanes around the society. Every day is about the same routine for us—unpacking fabric, marking the patterns, and making sure the hems are straight. It’s dusty work because of all the thread bits and cloth scraps that fly around the floor. We usually have a radio playing in the corner just to keep the silence away while we work. It’s a small operation, and we just keep at it day after day until the bundles are ready to go out.
