Varsha Plastic Works

Varsha Plastic Works is tucked away in the Shahi Samarth Welfare Society area, right on Arya Colony Road. It’s a bit of a walk from the main road in Powai, but once you get near Filterpada, you can just ask for the Buddha Mandir. We are also quite close to Cambridge High School, so we see a lot of students walking by in their uniforms every morning and afternoon. The workshop itself is where all the plastic work happens. It’s usually quite loud because of the machines and the cooling fans running all day. We started this small unit because we wanted to work for ourselves instead of for someone else. The space is a bit cluttered with raw materials and finished goods waiting to be picked up, but we know where everything is. Our neighbors are mostly families who have lived here for decades, so it feels like a very safe and friendly environment. Sometimes we have tea with the shopkeeper next door when things are slow. We don't have a fancy website or a marketing team. Most of our work comes from word of mouth or people just walking in because they saw our sign. The rain can be quite heavy in this part of Mumbai, and sometimes the road gets a bit muddy, but we keep the work going anyway. Most of our tools have been with us since the start, and they still work perfectly fine.
