Vardhaman General Store

Vardhaman General Store is right here in Borivali East at shop number 10 and 11 in the Krishna building. We actually have two shop spaces joined together so there is a bit more room for all the stock. It’s a typical general store with everything from soap to snacks piled up high. We keep the daily items near the front so people can grab them quickly on their way home. The building is quite old and we’ve seen the neighborhood change a lot over the years. Most of our day is spent weighing things out or restocking the shelves when the delivery trucks arrive. It gets really busy in the evenings when everyone gets off work. Sometimes the kids from the building come in for sweets and make a bit of a mess but it’s fine. We don't have a fancy computer system for everything, we still use a lot of paper and pens for the accounts. The ceiling fan doesn't do much when it’s really humid but we are used to it. We know most of the people who live around here by name. It’s a lot of standing around and talking to customers. We try to keep the aisles clear but there’s always a crate or a box in the way. It’s just how the shop is. We stay open pretty late to make sure everyone gets what they need.
