Valentine Clothes

Working in Dadar West is something else. Our place, Valentine Clothes, is tucked into that area near Pacific Plaza where Masjid Gali and Garage Gali meet. If you’ve ever walked through there, you know it’s a maze. It’s loud, it’s cramped, and there is always something happening. We spend most of our day navigating the narrow paths between stacks of clothing. We aren't trying to be a big showroom or anything like that. We are just here in the middle of the chaos, getting the work done. The walls are lined with whatever came in this week. Sometimes it's a bit of a mess, with threads on the floor and half-opened boxes everywhere. We don't mind it. It’s a working space. The guys from the other shops often drop by for a quick chat or to borrow a stapler. That's just how the neighborhood is. We get a lot of noise from the garage side, mostly tools clanking and people shouting over engines. It gets hot in the afternoons, so the fans are always on full blast, humming away. We just try to keep up with the orders and make sure the right items go to the right people. It’s a lot of handwriting labels and checking invoices on a wooden desk that’s seen better days. No one here wears a suit; we’re just in our regular clothes, busy with the daily grind of sorting and bagging every piece by hand.
