U.S. Department Of Agriculture, Office Of Agricultural Afairs

This office is part of the U.S. Department Of Agriculture, specifically the Office of Agricultural Afairs. We are situated within the American Consulate General. It’s a bit of a different environment compared to a regular street-side shop. There is a lot of security and rules because of the location, but inside, we are just an office like any other. We have our desks, our files, and our daily list of things to do. We don't really do the whole promotional thing because that's not why we are here. The Office of Agricultural Afairs handles the stuff that comes across our desks regarding agriculture and trade. Being inside the American Consulate General means we follow a certain schedule and way of doing things. It’s not a place where people just wander in off the street. We spend our time on reports and staying in touch with various people. The building itself is quite formal, but our own workspace is more down-to-earth. We try to keep things moving along without making a big fuss about it. We’ve got our specific roles and we just stick to them. It’s a lot of computer work and phone calls most of the time. There’s no mission statement on the wall, just a calendar and maybe a few photos from home. We just do the work that the department requires of us at this post. It’s just what we do here every day.
