Upkar Stores

We've been here at Upkar Stores for a while now. You can find us on Bazaar Street 2, right off the 3rd Main Road in Bandra West. It gets pretty crowded around here, especially in the mornings when everyone is out getting their things. We open up the shutters early. It’s just how it is in this part of town. Sometimes the traffic on the main road makes it hard for the delivery trucks to pull up, but we manage. Most people just walk over since it's a busy spot. It’s a small space, really. We’ve got shelves filled up to the ceiling because there’s never enough room for everything we want to keep in stock. If you’re walking down from the station side, you’ll see our sign. It’s nothing fancy. The building is older, and the paint is peeling a bit in the corners, but it stays cool inside during the summer heat. We spend a lot of time just chatting with the regulars who live in the nearby lanes. It’s mostly the same faces every day. We know who wants what before they even ask. Sometimes we run out of change, so we have to go to the shop next door to break a note. That’s just how things work on Bazaar Street. We don't have a website or anything like that. People just know we are here on the 3rd Main Road. It’s a simple life running a shop in Bandra West.
